Because of Polyken 105C Carpet Tape's cloth carrier and its ability to remove without leaving adhesive residue behind, this tape is also sometimes referred to as double-sided gaffers tape. Even though the tape is designed to remove adhesive-residue free it still does offer 40 ounces per inch of peel adhesion so some customers alternatively use the tape as a type of lint roller to pull up loose residue from a surface. Please note: removable tape is designed to not leave adhesive residue behind; however it may still pull up loose debris, finish, etc. from a substrate it is applied to depending on many conditions such as length of time applied, chemicals used to clean the substrate, and the composition of the substrate itself.
