Used for aerospace and military packaging & is a waterproof packaging and sealing duct tape that offers high performance for the most demanding applications. Polyken 231 can be effectively used for surface masking and media blast protection on cars and other vehicles. It's also highly recommended for seaming applications (like canvas tarps) and bundling. With an adhesive that's stiffer than Nashua 357 tape, it offers superior bonding to flat surfaces like glass, and can withstand extreme temperatures.
The benefits of Polyken 231 military duct tape include:
- Meets ASTM D-5486
- Conformability
- High tensile strength
- Resistance to moisture, abrasion and solvents
- High tack
- Powerful adhesion to most surfaces (including glass)
- Ability to hold up in extreme temperatures
- Crisp, straight tear
This Polyken 231 duct tape is manufactured to conform to ASTM D-5486 Type IV Class 1 (which supersedes PPP-T-60D & E Type IV, Class 1) and to DPM 871-3, NSN 7510-00-074-4961.
Note: Polyken 231 is not ideally suited to irregular or uneven surfaces.
